In 1982, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to our pastors, Terry and Angel Mathews, and instructed them to begin The Oasis of Love Church (now known as Oasis Family Church).  The Holy Spirit impressed them that God wanted a place of spiritual refreshing, where people from all walks of life could come and be ministered to by the Word of God, the Spirit of God, and the Love of God.  This was to be a resort, a refuge, and resource for people of the earth.

The Oasis Family Church began with a few strong committed families who loved God and had a heart to see the gospel preached in the City of Albuquerque and to all the world.  Their number totaled approximately 40 people and has been growing ever since.

In Isaiah 55:1, God said, “Everyone who is thirsty can come to the waters and drink”.  He also said that healing would be readily available to those who believe, and that our church would be a place where “Jesus is Lord and healing waters flow”.

In seeking the need for fellowship, relationship, and covering, Pastors Terry and Angel decided to associate with Faith Christian Fellowship International in the summer of 1982.  The relationship with FCF International has grown and been very fruitful.  Working together, we at Oasis and the FCF family have touched the world with the gospel  (See the FCF International section).

Pastor Terry has served as an Area Representative for FCF Int’l over the Rocky Mountain Area, and is currently the West Coast Regional Representative.  He has been privileged by God to minister to the many ministers in this region.

Our heart as a people is to be a family church, teaching and training family members to be the best they can be for God.  We have children’s ministries, youth ministries, and a desire to minister to all areas of need and outreach.

The love of God in our fellowship will continue to grow.  We at OFC will continue to grow; and the great things of God will continue to be in our midst.  We want to do our part to fulfill God’s plan in the City of Albuquerque, the State of New Mexico, and the world.  We want to be an example of God’s love, God’s grace, and God’s mercy and power to the Body of Christ and to a lost and dying world.

Praise and Worship is a major emphasis of our services, and the teaching and preaching of the Word of God holds a prominent place.  We expect supernatural signs to follow the preaching of the Word, and we give all the praise and glory to God.

The Oasis Family Church (formerly known as The Oasis of Love) began in a facility located on Zuni Road, Southeast Albuquerque.  In 1989, we moved to a new location at 2520 Chama NE.  In spring of 1998, we moved again to a larger facility at 4800 Lomas Blvd. NE.  At this new location, God spoke to us to change our name to “Oasis Family Church” and begin a fresh thrust in ministry to reach the families of the world.  God showed us that we are to “Build His Family”, “Be His Family”, and “Bless His Family” (Genesis 12:1-3).

Our vision is to acquire land to build an even larger facility that would help us minister more effectively to several thousand people.  Our Worship services are held Sunday mornings, at 9:00 am and 11:00 am, and Tuesday evenings, at 7:00 pm, with full Children’s Ministries provided.  We also have weekly Youth Services for grades 6 to 12 and Home Fellowship (Life Group) Meetings bi-monthly on Sundays at 6:00 pm.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Our telephone system includes an extension directory which allows you to access information and leave messages or prayer requests twenty-four hours a day.
